Bjørgvin, meaning `meadow between the mountains`was the original name of the city when it was founded in the 11th century. Now known as Bergen, she has developed over the centuries from a meadow into a cosmopolitan city. There are many reasons why Bergen has become my adopted home: the picturesque colorful wooden houses that give the city a special flair, the beautiful natural surroundings in the form of 7 mountains and the city fjord, the diverse artistic and cultural experiences - to name just a few. As an authorized city guide I would like to introduce you to the city, its history and culture, and to its people and the traditions they maintain.
